Product information

A flat mop and bucket set that rinses your mop in clean water, every time. The Cleansage HydraPro keeps clean water and dirty water in two separate tanks. Pump the mop up and down and nozzles spray fresh water onto the pad, while the used water drains into its own removable tank. Comb teeth strip off hair as you rinse, then a second slot squeezes the pad as damp or as dry as your floor needs.

In the box you get the two-tank bucket, a four-section stainless steel handle, a slim flat mop head with a squeegee edge and three thick, machine-washable microfibre pads. It's a clean and dirty water mop made for busy UK homes, pet owners and anyone who's fed up with grey mop water. Delivery is free and next-day to mainland UK, with 30-day returns and a 12-month warranty as standard.

HydraPro flat mop and bucket set at a glance

  • Clean and dirty water kept apart: a clean water tank and a separate, removable dirty water tank. The pad is only ever rinsed with fresh water.
  • 2.5 litres of clean water: fill to the MAX line on the front window and see at a glance how much is left.
  • Pump to rinse, pump to dry: no batteries, no foot pedal and no wringing by hand.
  • Hair comes off as you rinse: built-in comb teeth and a brush strip pet and human hair off the pad.
  • Slim 36 × 11 cm mop head: just 5.8 cm high, swivels 360°, tilts 45° and has a squeegee edge.
  • 3 triple-layer microfibre pads: machine washable, and each one can be reused up to 100 times.
  • Empties from the bottom: pull the drain plug. No tipping a full bucket.
  • Cleans: laminate, sealed hardwood, LVT, vinyl, tiles, stone and marble, plus wall tiles, windows and shower glass.

Why choose a flat mop and bucket set that separates clean and dirty water

You've probably been here. You fill the bucket, do the kitchen, and by the time you reach the hallway the water's grey. Every rinse puts a bit more dirt back on the pad, the floor dries with a dull film, and you finish by lugging a heavy, smelly bucket to the sink.

Most flat mop buckets don't fix that. They have a wash slot and a dry slot, but both sit over the same bath of water, so by the second room you're rinsing the pad in the dirt you've just lifted. Some newer designs add a clean water section, yet the dirty pad still sits in a shared rinse well, and the dirty section is fixed in place, so grime builds up where you can't reach it.

The HydraPro works differently. Clean water is pumped up from its own tank and sprayed onto the pad. The used water runs straight into a separate dirty tank that lifts out for rinsing. You mop the last room with water as clean as the first, and your hands never touch the dirty water.

How the HydraPro flat mop bucket keeps clean and dirty water apart

Clean water sits on one side of the bucket and dirty water on the other, with the work chamber in between. Every time you pump the mop, clean water is drawn up and sprayed onto the pad. The used water runs across into the dirty tank, away from the water you rinse with.

Cutaway of the HydraPro flat mop bucket: clean water is pumped up to spray the pad and dirty water drains into a separate tank

Pump to rinse, pump to dry

Stand the mop in the wash slot and pump it up and down. Nozzles spray clean water onto the pad while comb teeth and a brush scrub out dirt and hair. Then move it to the dry slot and pump again: a scraper squeezes the water out of the pad and into the dirty tank. A few pumps leave it wet enough for sticky kitchen tiles; a few more and it's nearly dry for laminate and wood.

HydraPro flat mop bucket wash and dry slots: pump to rinse the pad with clean water, pump to dry, with a 2.5 litre MAX line on the window

  • 2.5 litres of clean water. Fill to the MAX line on the front window, so you can see how much is left while you work.
  • A dirty water tank that lifts out. Nothing is left behind to go stale. Lift it out, rinse it and put it back.
  • A drain plug at the bottom. Pull it and the dirty water runs straight out. No lifting and tipping a full bucket.

What's in the HydraPro flat mop and bucket set

HydraPro flat mop and bucket set parts: bucket, removable dirty water tank, wringer lid, four-section stainless steel handle, flat mop head and drain plugs

  • Two-tank bucket: clean water tank with a front window and MAX line, removable dirty water tank, carry handle and a drain plug at the bottom.
  • Wringer lid: a wash slot with spray nozzles, comb teeth and a brush, and a dry slot with a scraper. It lifts off for cleaning.
  • Four-section stainless steel handle: fits together with no tools.
  • Flat mop head: 36 × 11 cm, 5.8 cm high, 360° swivel, 45° tilt and a squeegee edge.
  • 3 microfibre pads: triple-layer, machine washable and reusable up to 100 washes each.

Keep spares in the cupboard: HydraPro replacement microfibre pads come in a 5-pack. They wash and go straight back to work, so there are no disposable refills to keep buying. Still comparing? See all our mop and bucket sets.

One mop for cleaning floors, corners, skirting and glass

It's a mop for cleaning floors first, but the slim head goes where a bucket mop can't.

HydraPro flat mop swivelling 360 degrees round a sofa, along skirting boards, under a sideboard, into corners and wiping window glass

  • Round the sofa and under furniture: the head swivels a full 360°, and at 5.8 cm high it slides under sofas, beds, sideboards and tables without you moving them.
  • Along skirting boards and into corners: the long straight edge runs tight along the skirting, and the head tilts 45° to get into awkward angles.
  • Windows, mirrors and glass doors: wipe the glass with a nearly dry pad, then clear any water with the squeegee edge.
  • Bathroom walls and shower screens: the long handle reaches high wall tiles and glass shower screens, with no step stool and no bowl of suds.

A squeegee edge for a dry, streak-free finish

The built-in squeegee wipes surplus water off wet floors, tiles and glass in one pass, so there's nothing left standing to dry into marks. Pair it with the slim swivel head and 45° tilt and you can clean a whole bathroom, glass and all, with one tool.

The floor mop for laminate floors and hardwood floor cleaning

Laminate and wood want a damp mop, never a wet one. Standing water is what makes boards swell and joints lift. Because you set the dampness yourself in the dry slot, the HydraPro works as a dry wet mop: wetter for sticky kitchen tiles, nearly dry for boards. The squeegee edge takes off anything left behind, so the floor dries in minutes.

  • Laminate: pump the pad nearly dry and mop one area at a time. Squeegee off any water you can see.
  • Hardwood and engineered wood: a floor mop for hardwood should be nearly dry, so pump it well. Sealed or lacquered floors only; oiled or waxed floors need the finish maker's own products.
  • Tiles, stone and marble: leave the pad wetter to lift sticky spills and clean along grout lines.
  • LVT and vinyl: a damp pad, with a little pH-neutral cleaner if you like.

For everyday hardwood floor cleaning, a quick wipe-over with a nearly dry pad picks up dust and footprints without soaking the wood, and fresh water on every rinse means no grey film left on the boards.

What makes this clean water mop different

A lot of flat mops look alike online. These are the things you'll notice once the HydraPro is in your hands.

Comb teeth strip pet and human hair off as you rinse

Every time you pump the mop in the wash slot, comb teeth scrape along the pad. Pet fur, long hair and fluff come off the pad and wash away into the dirty tank, not onto your fingers. If you've got a shedding dog or cat, or long hair in the family, this is the part you'll love most.

Comb teeth inside the HydraPro flat mop bucket lid stripping pet and human hair off the microfibre pad, shown before and after

Thick triple-layer pads that last

Each pad has three layers: thick microfibre on the face to grab dirt, a sponge layer inside that soaks up spills fast, and reinforced nylon stitching round the edge so it holds its shape wash after wash. They dry quickly, go in the washing machine and can be reused up to 100 times, so three pads go a long way.

A pad that's quick to change and stays put

Press the grey button on the mop head to release the plate, pull the used pad away and line the new one up with the three tabs. Press it on and it stays put while you scrub, with no curling under and no sliding off.

A few more details you'll notice

  • No batteries, no pedal. Everything runs off the up-and-down pump of the handle.
  • Comes apart for a deep clean. The lid, wringer insert and dirty tank all come out, so you can rinse every part.
  • Compact bucket. At 26 × 17 × 39 cm it fits a utility gap, a kitchen cupboard or under the stairs.
  • Carry handle. Take it from the kitchen to the bathroom in one hand.

How to use the HydraPro flat mop bucket

It's soak, rinse, dry, mop. Once you've done it the first time, the whole routine takes seconds.

  1. Put it together. Fit the four handle sections together and onto the mop head. No tools needed.
  2. Fit a pad. Press the grey button to release the plate, line the pad up with the three tabs and press it on firmly.
  3. Fill the clean side. Fill the clean water tank up to the MAX line on the front window (2.5 litres). Add a little floor-safe cleaner if you like.
  4. Soak and rinse. Stand the mop in the wash slot and pump it up and down. Clean water sprays onto the pad while the comb teeth strip off dirt and hair. A new pad needs a few extra pumps to soak through the first time.
  5. Dry. Move the mop to the dry slot and pump again. Fewer pumps leave the pad damp for tiles; more pumps squeeze it nearly dry for laminate and wood.
  6. Mop. Work in overlapping strokes, let the head swivel round furniture and tilt it into corners. Rinse and dry again whenever the pad looks dirty.
  7. Empty and wash. Pull the drain plug to let the dirty water out, lift out the dirty tank to rinse it, and put the pad in the washing machine.

Is this flat mop right for you?

We'd rather you buy the right mop first time, so here's who it suits and who it doesn't.

  • Great for: busy family homes, pet owners, laminate and wood floors, kitchens and bathrooms, and anyone who wants clean water every rinse.
  • Not for: carpets and rugs. It's made for hard floors, walls and glass.
  • Heavy mess: sweep or vacuum first when there's mud, grit or a lot of shed fur. The mop does the rest.
  • Very tight spots: the slim head and 45° tilt reach much further than a bucket mop, but behind a toilet or in a tight 90° corner you may still want a quick wipe by hand.

HydraPro or AquaPro: which Cleansage mop is right for you?

Both keep clean and dirty water apart. Both clean every hard floor in your home, plus tiled walls and shower glass. Both come with three washable pads and comb teeth that strip hair off the pad. The real choice is how you like to wring it.

  • Choose the HydraPro flat mop if you'd rather pump up and down than press and spin, and you want a wide, slim head with a squeegee edge that covers more floor with each pass.
  • Choose the AquaPro spin mop and bucket set if you'd rather spin a mop dry with a quick press of the handle and like a compact square head. It's our rotating mop and bucket, with the same clean and dirty water separation.

Flat mop and bucket set questions answered

What is a flat mop and bucket set?

A flat mop and bucket set pairs a flat microfibre mop with a bucket that washes and wrings the pad for you, so you never wring by hand. The Cleansage HydraPro adds true clean and dirty water separation: clean water is sprayed onto the pad from its own tank and the used water drains into a separate one, so you never rinse in dirty water.

Are flat mops any good?

Yes, for hard floors they're one of the best choices. A flat microfibre pad lifts dust and dirt well, uses little water, and the slim head slides under furniture and into corners. The weak spot of most flat mop buckets is that they rinse in one bath of water that gets dirtier as you go. A flat mop with separate clean and dirty water, like the HydraPro, fixes that.

What are flat mops best for?

Everyday cleaning of hard floors, especially water-sensitive ones like laminate and wood, because you control how damp the pad is. They're also good under furniture, along skirting boards and on walls, windows and shower glass.

What is the best flat mop and bucket for my floors?

Look for three things: clean and dirty water kept apart, so you never rinse in dirty water; a way to set how wet the pad is, so it suits laminate and wood as well as tiles; and washable pads, so you're not buying refills. The HydraPro has all three, plus comb teeth for hair, a squeegee edge and a drain plug.

Is a flat mop better than a spin mop and bucket?

Neither is better for every home. A flat mop has a wider, slimmer head that covers more floor with each pass and slides under low furniture. A spin mop has a compact head and a quick press-and-spin wring. Cleansage makes both with clean and dirty water separation: the HydraPro flat mop and the AquaPro spin mop.

Why does a mop need separate clean and dirty water?

With one bucket, the water gets dirtier every time you rinse, so you end up spreading thin, grey water across the floor. Keeping clean and dirty water separate means every rinse uses fresh water, so the last room gets the same clean pad as the first.

How much water does the HydraPro hold?

Fill the clean side up to the MAX line on the front window, which is 2.5 litres. The clean and dirty tanks are 3 litres each, so there's room to spare on the dirty side.

Is the HydraPro a good mop for laminate floor cleaning?

Yes. Laminate needs a damp mop, not a wet one. Pump the pad nearly dry in the dry slot, mop one area at a time and use the squeegee edge to lift off any surplus water, so nothing stands on the boards.

Can I use it on hardwood floors?

Yes, on sealed or lacquered hardwood and engineered wood. Pump the pad nearly dry, mop with the grain and squeegee away any water you can see. Oiled or waxed wood floors need the finish maker's own cleaning products.

Can it be used as a dry and wet mop?

Yes. The number of pumps in the dry slot sets how damp the pad is. Fewer pumps give you a wet mop for tiles and sticky spills; more pumps give you a nearly dry mop for laminate, wood and quick daily wipe-overs.

Does it need batteries or a foot pedal?

No. Pumping the handle up and down is what sprays the water and wrings the pad. There's no pedal, battery or cable.

Does it need assembling?

Only the handle and pad. Fit the four handle sections together, attach the mop head, press on a pad and fill up. No tools are needed.

How do I change the mop pad?

Press the grey button on the mop head to release the plate and pull the used pad away. Line the new pad up with the three tabs and press it on firmly.

Can I add floor cleaner?

Yes, a small amount of floor-safe cleaner can go in the clean water. Use a pH-neutral product on wood, laminate and stone. Microfibre also cleans well with plain water.

How do I empty the dirty water?

Pull the drain plug at the bottom of the bucket and let the dirty water run out, so you don't have to lift a full bucket. Then lift out the dirty tank and give it a quick rinse.

Do I need to change the water between rooms?

No. Dirty water never mixes with the clean water, so you can keep going from room to room. Top up the clean side when it runs low, swap to a fresh pad between very dirty rooms, and empty the dirty tank when you finish.

Is the HydraPro good for pet hair?

Yes. The microfibre pad picks up loose fur, and the comb teeth in the wash slot strip it off into the dirty tank every time you rinse, so you never touch it. Vacuum first when your pet is shedding heavily.

Can I use it on walls, windows and shower glass?

Yes. The long handle and swivel head reach bathroom wall tiles, shower screens, windows and mirrors. Wipe with a nearly dry pad, then use the squeegee edge for a streak-free finish.

How do I wash the pads, and where can I buy more?

Machine wash the pads and let them air dry, without fabric softener. Each pad can be reused up to 100 times. Replacement HydraPro pads are sold here at ABN Finest in a 5-pack.

Will the bucket fit in my cupboard?

Most likely. The bucket measures 26 × 17 × 39 cm, small enough for a utility gap, kitchen cupboard or the space under the stairs. Empty and rinse it before you put it away so it stays fresh.

Is the HydraPro suitable for older users?

It suits many older users. You mop standing upright, you never wring by hand, there's no foot pedal, and you empty it with the drain plug instead of lifting a full bucket. The wash and dry action is a steady up-and-down pump with no twisting.

Couldn’t praise this product enough. I had previously had an old spray mop that was falling for bits from years of use. This one is a game changer. There were other mops but none had true water separation like the Cleansage mop, it’s nice to finally not have to hand wash dirty mop heads in the sink before putting them in the washing machine. The actual mop itself is easy to put together but feels like it is durable and made of quality metal. The mop is long so saves me bending over whilst gliding over floor. I use it for both laminate and LVF. Didn’t think upgrading my mop would make much difference, but it really has.

This is great and well worth the extra. Ive had cheaper versions but this one so much better as it truly separates the clean and dirty water and really does dry the mop head so its damp not soaking. Great easy emptying too. Compact to store aswell.

This is great and exactly what I was looking for. Compact and very easy to use and perfect for keeping my floors clean. Drying time is quick, I like the desperation of clean and dirty water. Drainage once done is simple and less messy than a traditional mop. Also gets into corners and around furniture easily.

I have dogs, and with the bad weather over winter I needed a better mop on my floors. I have had several other versions but this one really has turned out to be the best.

1. the mop heads just seem to last, the hook in part isnt tearing or snarling up note they are the longer heads, so when ordering extras make sure to get the right size. because the pocket part doesn't tear I can reuse it, I can shove into the wash and there good to go.

2. Having the clean water in a separate compartment is a life saver the older version meant i was trying to wash a muddy floor with muddy water and getting nowhere, being separate the floors are clean, you can really see the difference.

3. Its easy to store, its not too heavy when filled, and it feels solid which many others do feel wibbly and wobbly at times.

4. Cleaning, you can pull out the bungs to get rid of the dirty water, its good, but you do need to on occasions take the top off pull bungs out and lift out the parts for a good clean as you can get residue on the bottom.

The biggest thing is the bungs do fit well but fitting well also makes them harder to push in (its a good thing) if you don't push them all the way in it can dribble a bit so always make sure to do that.

As i said best mop like this ive come across, it works really really well and am very happy with it

Been using it for a few days and until now its been working well, it does require a few pumps to get it going and for laminate floor its really nice since you can control how wet you want it to be.

It doesnt mix dirty water with clean one and it rinses quite well.

would buy it again
